Margaret Hamilton

Margaret Hamilton (born 1936) is an American computer scientist and systems engineer. She led the software engineering division of the Apollo space program and developed the on-board flight software for the Apollo spacecraft. Hamilton's work was crucial for the success of the Moon landing missions and has had a lasting impact on software engineering and systems development.

Developed the concepts of asynchronous software, priority scheduling, end-to-end testing, and human-in-the-loop decision capability, such as priority displays which then became the foundation for ultra-reliable software design
