Al-Jazari

Ismail al-Jazari was a polymath who lived during the Islamic Golden Age (roughly 8th to 14th centuries). He was an inventor, mechanical engineer, artisan, artist and mathematician who wrote an influential book called "The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices" in which he described 100 mechanical devices, 80 of which were trick vessels of various kinds, along with instructions on how to construct them

He is best known for his book "The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices," also known as "Al-Jazari's Book of Knowledge." This book described various mechanical devices and automated systems, including clocks, water-raising machines, musical instruments, and more. Al-Jazari's work had a significant influence on the development of engineering and automation during the Islamic Golden Age.

Badīʿ az-Zaman Abu l-ʿIzz ibn Ismāʿīl ibn ar-Razāz al-Jazarī was a polymath, scholar, inventor, mechanical engineer, artisan and artist from the Artuqid Dynasty of Jazira in Mesopotamia. He is best known for writing The Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices in 1206, where he described 50 mechanical devices, along with instructions on how to construct them. One of his more famous inventions is the elephant clock. He has been described as the "father of robotics" and modern day engineering.
