Wesley A. Clark

Wesley A. Clark (born 1927) is an American computer scientist and engineer. He played a vital role in the development of computer systems and parallel computing. Clark co-designed the groundbreaking IBM Stretch supercomputer and contributed to the creation of the Burroughs B5000 computer system, which introduced innovative concepts like virtual memory and hardware support for multitasking.

Designed LINC, the first functional computer scaled down and priced for individual users (1963). Many of its features are considered prototypes of essential elements of personal computers.

Wesley Allison Clark was an American physicist who is credited for designing the first modern personal computer. He was also a computer designer and the main participant, along with Charles Molnar, in the creation of the LINC computer, which was the first minicomputer and shares with a number of other computers the claim to be the inspiration for the personal computer.
